1) The Universe is Self-Existent
This idea contains a few various possibilities to explore and we'll take a few moments to at least consider them. First, What do we mean when we say the universe is self existent? What we are saying is IF the universe is  self existent then no god or gods created it! The universe becomes the Prime Mover (the beginning of all energy), and it is always there. Now is there any ancient doctrine that supports this belief? No! However, this belief is quite interesting and deserves to be evaluated just for an understanding of the outcome. The outcomes of this belief are the following:

1. The universe is self-existent and everlasting.
2. The universe is self-existent and will run out of energy and fall
    apart.
3. The universe is self-existent and will run out of energy then fall
    into itself into a state of singularity. Just as a side note: Singularity
    is where all matter that exists in the universe is squished in the
    microscopic size of the nucleus of an atom. This is like God taking
    all of the matter in the universe and using his strength to pack it
    into a snowball as tiny as the nucleus of an atom. This model has
    two possibilities and they are as follows:

24. The universe is self-existent and will run out of energy  then fall into itself into a state of singularity, then re-explode into a chaos state (a state that can't support life).
    

50. The universe is self-existent and will run out of energy  then fall into itself into a state of singularity, then re-explode into a logical state (a state that can support life).
    

1)A. If the universe is self-existent and everlasting

If the universe is self-existent and everlasting and there is no God, gods or creation, then the universe, the souls of people, animals and/or vegetation continues through death like a metamorphosis that goes on through stages forever by virtue of the energies of the universe.

However, there is one major problem to this idea; to date it has been determined that the universe is expanding at a rapid rate (the possible result of the big bang). Simply put the universe may expand to a point where it will fall apart (so to speak) and lose all its energy. Therefore, the idea of an everlasting universe is, at least possibly, a dead idea (although we can never be sure because we don't know everything). A simple explanation is; all the bodies in the universe have force. The force of each body in space (such as galaxies, stars and planets, etc.) all act upon each other in space by way of gravity, electromagnetic force, strong and weak nuclear force.

It is believed that the expanding universe can get to a point where the forces of these bodies will be spread apart so sparsely, that they will no longer have any effect on each other causing a complete loss of energy in the universe (a universe without movement).
In this theory, if the universe does run out of energy, eternal life cannot exist.

However, if the scientists were wrong and the universe were self-existent and everlasting, these could be some of the eternal life possibilities:

1. Humans would be no different than any other life form. That is to say that we die and experience that same fate as all other life forms.
   
2. There would be no need for logic, reason and morals (in the eternal sense) except socially Then we could just live for the day.
   
3. There would be no judgment because there would be no divine being to judge us.
   
4. There would be no separation of the good from evil in the eternal sense, since there is no judge or divine law to judge us.
   
5. All life forms would either experience:
   

24. A metamorphosis and live in a new state of life (eternal life).
    

50. (or) die once and for all without an after life or eternal life.
    

If science were correct or at least correct about the universe running out of energy we would need to investigate the second idea. And that is as follows:

1)B. The universe is self-existent and will run out of energy and fall apart.

If the universe lost its energy then the idea of eternal life dies completely.  Life in any form or dimension uses energy. If there is no God, then the universe is the underlying energy force that keeps and sustains all life. If the universe dies there is no energy.

If there is no energy to support life then life cannot exist in any form or dimension.  This creates an interesting ripple in this theory, "eternal life" and "after life" becomes two separate possibilities. Here's why! If the universe were to die then there is no energy to support life and life cannot exist in any form or dimension; right? But if the universe can live on for billions of years before its energy runs out there can still be an after life. In other words if I died right now my spirit could possibly live on, if the energy of the universe sustains it. Then, when the universe runs out of energy and dies so would my spirit because its sustaining force (the universe) died.

I mention this because there are belief systems such as the evolved Buddhist beliefs, Hindu and others that feel the universe provides energy for the spirit to live on. Buddha started out as a completely atheistic belief system to find inner peace and now has evolved in more of a Hindu-istic hybrid.  Now we can look at the resulting possibilities of this theory. They are as follows:

1. Again, humans are no different than any other life form just as in 1)A.
   
2. Here too, There would be no need for logic, reason and morals except socially.
   
3. There would be no judgment because there would be no divine being to judge us.
   
4. There would be no separation of the good from evil in the eternal sense, since there is no judge or divine law to judge us.
   
5. All life forms would either experience:
   

24. A metamorphosis and live in a new state of life (after life not eternal since the universe will eventually die).
